Glycerin is a neutral, sweet-tasting, colorless, thick liquid which freezes to a gummy paste and which has a high boiling point.
Glycerin can be dissolved easily in alcohol and water but not into oil. The nature of
glycerin is hygroscopic it means absorb water from the air. Because of this hygroscopic quality
glycerin often used for cosmetic, shampoo and soap products to moisturize the skin, lips, and hair. In food industries, since 1959 Glycerin has been recognized by Food and Drug Administration as safe raw materials.
